I must admit that I'm a little surprised at how much I love this palette. I know a lot of makeup lovers out there have a soft spot for khakis. Looking at the promo pics for the YSL Fall collection I was intrigued but khaki shades don't tend to set my heart a flutter.
I first opened the compact and thought "oohh those do have a lovely finish" but I still didn't think the shades would be that flattering on.
Then I began swatching. The pretty effect in the pan was even more evident on my arm. I was starting to get a bit excited. Now the following swatches are dry. I know the Yves Saint Laurent Pure Chromatics quads are a wet and dry formula but I expect an eyeshadow to perform beautifully without needing to apply wet and the YSL Fall palette Harmony No 10 did not disappoint.
Once applied to my eyes I knew I was going to become great friends with the YSL Pure Chromatics quad No 10 from the Autumn Winter 2012/2013 collection. The shadows applied so nicely and blended together with ease to create a gorgeous soft khaki eye. I am now looking forward to amping up the intensity for future looks. All the shades are incredible. I was concerned with how the silver shade would apply but it works very nicely. The only concern with it is that it does produce fallout so if you are incorporating the silver shade in your look I suggest applying your eye makeup before your base.
Bottom line. It has made a khaki lover out of me. ;-)
The fall YSL products should be hitting Canadian Holt Renfrew counters in August along with select Bay, Murale, and Sephora boutiques. I know it is rolling out as we speak in some US stores.
