I can't tell you how excited I am to have finally have the opportunity to try the By Terry brand created by Terry de Gunzburg and share my experiences with you. I have longed to try this exquisite brand for so long and I'm pleased be able to tempt you with some offerings from the TerryblyssimeChristmas 2013 Collection. First up I have the By Terry Nail Laque Terrybly High-Shine Smoothing Lacquer Ultra-Long Wear Rich Color polish in the shade 12 Terrybly Terry ($30 US) and the By Terry Nail Laque Terrybly Glitter Glow Top Coat Sparkling Gel Dry-Fast polish in 700($30 US).
The new Nail Laque Terrybly formula contains protective Okoumé resin to help strengthen nails and has a very glossy and quick drying formula. Terrybly Terry is a gorgeous blackened plum shade described by By Terry as their emblematic shade of dark tulip purple. It has a transparent consistency but is opaque in two coats. The limited edition Glitter Glow Top Coat is a fun combination of blue and silver small and medium sized hex glitter that applies in a fairly concentrated manner offering a nice even distribution in one coat without much strategic effort. While promoted as Fast-Dry this polish still takes some time to dry. It is more fast dry in the sense of a faster drying than normal polish formula but not as a fast-dry top coat to quickly lock down your manicure and carry on with your day. I ended up applying my trusty Dior Abricot Top Coat to hasten the process after I found my nails still soft to the touch after several minutes. I thought the combination of blue and silver glitter with the deep plum of Terrybly Terry an odd combination when I received the two together and saw them in the Christmas promotional materials but the pairing is actually quite lovely. I am in love with the ease of application of these formulas and the uber shiny finish. Wear time has been excellent but I also have gel nail polish on as a base to help strengthen my paper thin nails.
