Well I finally got around to hauling some Burberry. Being that there is no way to order it online in Canada, and the fact I might make it to Holt Renfrew in Toronto maybe once a year, I just hadn't found a way to make it happen even though there are several items I have been wanting for a very long time. Luckily I was able to take advantage of a really great GWP deal at Nordstrom a couple weeks ago and have a really lovely and generous friend ship my purchases up to me.

I thought I would show you the Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow in No. 24 Mulberry since it is the only item from the new Fall 2012 collection that I purchased. It also turned out to be the part of my order that I would have been best passing on.

Mulberry is a gorgeous dark plum in the pan but for some reason it translates quite brown on my skin. The beautiful plum wine shimmer seems to get lost on me. I have tried with and without a base and so far no luck bring the beauty and complexity of this shadow out on my eye.

It also turns out that I have a lot of similar shades in my collection. I am really drawn to these kinds of shades apparently! I have swatched Mulberry in between Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Red Platine, Inglot Pearl 423, Le Metier de Beaute Alexandrite, Le Metier de Beaute Ikat from the Silk Road Kaleidoscope, and Le Metier de Beaute Enrichissant from the Le Cirque Kaleidoscope. None are true dupes but they are all in the same family.

I'm not 100% decided on how I feel about this shadow yet. It seems to end up looking washed out on my eyes and leaving me feeling disappointed. That paired with the fact I do have a lot of similar shades may mean I don't end up hanging on to this.

Burberry is available at select Holt Renfrew locations in Canada. If you are in the US you can find Burberry at Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.
