Essie Winter 2013 Collection Photos and Information

I must say I am ready to ditch the bright corals and pinks of summer and dive into the rich hues of autumn and winter. One collection that has me swooning is the Essie Winter 2013 Collection hitting stores and salons this October 2013. I don’t think there’s a shade I don’t love in the bunch!

When the cold wind blows, warm up with gorgeous colour. Now is the time to invest in a bold statement coat, because there’s nothing like the perfect ‘it’ coat to sashay through the slush in style. This season, I am so excited about the gorgeous, decadent furs and melt-my-heart cashmeres that are all the rage. So, I am bottling up the winter’s best – gorgeous angora like pastels and rich, seductive deeps for a collection to give you a luxurious lift when you need it most. In all my years of runway-watching, I’ve never seen such a spring-like array of winter outerwear. The predominating cocoon-like shapes feel like the world’s poshest armor, baffling the body against winter’s bite with a soft silhouette and even softer materials. So, whether you’re parka perfect or a shearling darling, the right coat of colour makes all the difference. Essie Weingarten

Yves Saint Laurent YSL Beauty Autumn Winter 2012/2012 Information

What item is at the top of my YSL Fall Winter shopping list? Why the gorgeous limited edition Palette Couture of course! So chic! The colours look flattering and I love that the stripes are large enough to be effectively used individually as well as combined. I adore the crocodile inspired embossed palette!

THE IT PRODUCT ~ PALETTE COUTURE $68 - The star accessory for autumn, the Palette Couture has morphed into a jewel bedecked with a crocodile motif, the emblem of the YSL accessories and leathergoods collection. The patina-khaki and gold engraved compact plays on the contrasting matte and glossy theme to reveal a delicate powder stamped with a “scale” pattern.“Flush” blushFleshy pink, golden beige, rosy black-brown. A harmony of 3 subtle shades that adapt to all skin tones. By blending them, you can sculpt the cheeks and create a radiant, custom-tailored blush.

Another new and limited addition product calling my name is the Dare to Glow. This is a complexion illuminator that is supposed to be something between a highlighter and an enhancer. It is a gel texture with mother-of-pearl particles.  So pretty! I’m not sure what the red shade (it looks more pink and quite wearable in the promo pic) will look like but I have a feeling the pink and gold shades will have to come home with me.

N° 1 – Tempting Gold – a warm, golden ray of light.
N° 2 – Fatal Red – a dark, warm ray of light.
N° 3 – Naughty Pink – a cool, clear ray of light.

N° 19 – Graphite Green

N° 14 – Excentric Green

N° 31 – Khaki Arty
N° 32 – Rouge Expressionniste

N° 201 – Orange Imagine
N° 202 – Rose Crazy
N° 203 – Rouge Rock
N° 204 – Rouge Scandal
N° 205 – Prune Virgin
N° 206 – Grenat Satisfaction

And of course I am loving the look of the new Pure Chromatics palettes. I am interested to see how this formula performs with a matte finish in the No 11 palette.

Harmony N° 10
Harmony N° 11

N° 13 – Saharan Bronze

Look at this gorgeous fair skinned model in the promo pic for the Autumn Winter 2012/2012 look. She looks so sophisticated but I know if I tried to sport that look I would feel uncomfortably noticeable. I am tempted to try though. ;-)

A Couture complexion
“I love the contrast of a matte complexion brightened by touches of light. Apply Dare To Glow on the upper forehead, cheeks and beneath the arc of the eyebrows. Perfect the effect by sculpting the cheekbones with the Palette Couture.”

Pure Chromatics color effects
“I came up with 2 new Pure Chromatics color harmonies. Matte, intense N° 11 to redefine the eyebrows, to create a smoky matte or an eyeliner effect by wetting it with a fine brush. As for the satiny, metallic N° 10, when it’s applied with water it reveals the legendary YSL colors such as patina-ed gold and lunar gray. This is what I focused on for this look.”

Khaki fever
“Khaki is a universal color that highlights the color of the eyes. Applied along the lash line, the Dessin Du Regard Saharan Bronze intensifies a smoky effect. The Dessin Du Regard Excentric Green applied in little dots or a line brightens the khaki. The Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils Graphite Green gives the lashes XXL volume and reveals its color whenever light rays filter through them.”

Matte lips
“Rouge Pur Couture The Mats can be used in several ways: applied directly on the lips if you know your face well and you have a sure hand. Applied using a finger on the center of the lips with a little bit of colour or a natural-looking ‘bitten lip’ effect. Or with a brush for intense, sophisticated color and a precise outline.”

The products should be hitting Canadian Holt Renfrew counters in August along with select Bay, Murale, and Sephora boutiques. I know it is rolling out as we speak in some US stores.
