M. Steves Reviving Exfoliator and Ultra-Nourishing Boost Review

M Steves1

The M. Steves Skincare line is a streamlined collection of skincare products revolving around the rejuvenating properties of pure, cold-pressed Chilean Rose Hip Seed Oil (RHSO). Creator Mally Steves Chakola has created the line to be full of  high impact natural actives for optimal skin care benefits. The line came to be after Mally, who loved the velvety texture of RHSO when adding it to her moisturizer during her nighttime routine, noticed a dramatic improvement in the size and colour of a scar she had after wiping the excess moisturizer cocktail on her leg after a couple of week. She was blown away by the results and started to research the power of RHSO only to learn about its amazing skin rejuvenating and anti-aging properties. What makes RHSO so special?

Unsaturated essential fatty acids: Linolenic, Linoleic & Oleic Acids (Omegas 3, 6 and 9) Contributing factors to the highly moisturizing and soothing properties of the oil, these essential fatty acids are able to penetrate the skin’s top layer to aid in nourishing the cells and creating a moisture barrier without greasiness, leaving behind the most luxurious, velvety finish.

Antioxidants Nutrients and enzymes that “mop up” free radicals to help prevent and repair damage to the body’s tissue.

I have been testing out two of the five products in the lineup over the last month or so. The RHSO Power-Packed Reviver Exfoliator Triple-Action Skin Resurfacer ($48 US) and the RHSO Power-Packed Ultra-Nourishing Boost Concentrated Rose Hip Seed Oil Skin Booster ($64 US). The packaging presentation is beautiful. It really makes you feel like you are about to do something special for your skin.

The Ultra-Nourishing Boost is basically a Rose Hip Seed Oil facial oil. It is a standard oil formula as opposed to a dry oil but it still absorbs well into the my skin. It includes a naturally-derived extract called GATULINE® IN-TENSE, proven to make skin look of firmer, works to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. I adore facial oils and this one is certainly an exquisite offering. Ingredients: Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Spilanthes Acmella Flower Extract, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, BHT.

The Reviving Exfoliator is a lovely mask. It has a fairly thin texture has a high concentration of quite microdermabrasion crystals and walnut shell powder for a pretty intense exfoliation. It also contains Rose Hip Seed Oil (of course!), Glycolic Acid, Fruit Enzymes in a Deep Sea Mud base for a radiance boosting, skin renewing facial. Ingredients: Aluminum Oxide (Corundum Crystals), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Silt, Stearic Acid, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Sorbitan Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glycolic Acid, Silk Amino Acids, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugarcane) Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbic Acid, Panthenol, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) Peel Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

Beauty Blogger Top Ten Tuesday – Top 10 Winter Skincare Products

This week your Top Ten Tuesday team of Beauty Bloggers is sharing our Top Ten Winter Skincare picks. Most of us find the transition to dry winter air and indoor heating requires an adjustment in our skincare regimes. Here are some products that I turn to as my sunlit dewy mornings turn to dark and frost covered ones.

Top Ten Winter Skincare Picks

In no particular order:

Dior Capture Totale One Essential Ultra-Detox Treatment Mask I admit I haven’t actually tried this mask but I have tried the Capture Totale Serum with great results and I have heard amazing things about this resurfacing mask that has the highest concentration of Dior’s Capture Totale detoxing ingredients. I am always on the hunt for a great mask and this is high on my wishlist.

L’Occitane Hand Cream - I use hand cream like it’s going out of style during the colder months. I find any exposure to the cold air without gloves on results in dry, chapped hands for me. I love these L’Occitane Hand Creams and this set comes with an assortment to try in purse perfect sizes.

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Recovery Accelerator - I use this product when the eczema on my chin and around my nose flares up to soothe and heal.

Eucerin Professional Repair Body Lotion - I find during the winter months it is important to exfoliate the skin to keep it smooth and free of icky dry flakies. You can use a manual scrub but I am usually too lazy and rushed to take the time to do this in the shower.  Using a body lotion containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) like this cream from Eucerin provides chemical exfoliation and intense hydration.

Lansinoh HPA Lanolin for Nursing Mothers - I have spoke many times about my holy grail lip balm. I certainly couldn’t survive the winter without this product. It is also great to apply to any other areas of the skin that get dry and chapped.

Weleda Skin Food - This is an exceptionally rich cream that I love using as a hand cream in the winter and well as on other areas of my skin that tend to get really dry.

Weleda Almond Soothing Facial Oil - I adore facial oils and this soothing oil from Weleda feels great on my sensitive skin when it is ravished by the cold air and winter winds.

KORRES Body Butter - I need really rich moisturizers in the winter months but get annoyed sometimes getting product out of the usual tubs and spreading it on my skin. I adore the KORRES Body Butters because the are in a squeeze tube and rub easily into the skin while still maintaining the ultra rich hydration of a body butter.

DIOR Huile Abricot Daily Nutritive Serum - Going hand in hand (pun intended) with winter ravaged hands is ragged and dry cuticles and nails. This cuticle and nail treatment oil from Dior keeps nails and cuticles healthy and beautiful.

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser - I use cleansing oils year round to remove my makeup and like to follow up with another cleanser. During the summer months I may use a cleanser that is geared towards treating skin issues like pigmentation but when my skin gets more sensitive in the cooler weather I like to keep things as gentle as possible with a non stripping cream cleanser like this favourite from CeraVe.

What are your go to winter skincare products?
