Lancôme Show by Alber Elbaz Collection Exclusive Sneak Peek!

I was lucky enough to be part of a small group of bloggers invited to an incredible meal at the Brassaii restaurant in Toronto for an exclusive look at the Lancôme Show by Alber Elbaz collection. The collection will be first released exclusively at select Bay locations tomorrow, Saturday June 15th, 2013. It was such a fun event with a beautiful group of women. Hopefully I can share some more info on the fun we had soon. I will certainly be returning to Brassaii in the future. What a great spot!

Unlike many luxury brands like Chanel, Guerlain, and Armani, Lancôme does not have it’s own fashion house. What better match than the house of Lanvin and Lancôme for a brilliant and artistic collaboration.

HYPNÔSE ON THE CATWALK FOR ALBER ELBAZ ~ Hypnôse Doll Eyes, Hypnôse Star, Hypnôse Drama or simply the mythical Hypnôse: each mascara boasts its very own unique power, and available in a new extra black shade. Now, thanks to Alber Elbaz’s masterful hand, each is given a new couture life – utterly collectable! Unlike a lot of hiked up specially packaged releases these mascaras are only $1 more than the regular packaged version. For Lancôme mascara lovers it is time to stock up! Why not have a stash of your favourite formula set aside in gorgeous packing to enjoy for months to come?

  • Hypnôse Doll Eyes ($32 CAD) is the first “doll lashes” effect mascara, for broader, longer and lifted eyes. Draped in its red heart dress, Doll opens the show with just the right dose of innocence.
  • Hypnôse Star ($34 CAD) pays homage to the glamour of the silver screen with its double-sided brush designed to define stunning Hollywood eyes. Created by Alber Elbaz, its star-studded fur in electric blue makes it a studio goddess. A new star is born!
  • Hypnôse Drama ($32 CAD) is the mascara for spectacularly intense eyes, with its convex brush designed to coat and separate each and every lash and achieve scandalous volume. Swathed in its flamenco-style bright pink polka dot dress, Drama embodies self-assured and passionate ultra-femininity.
  • Hypnôse ($32 CAD) The first genuine made-to-measure mascara, Hypnôse leaves lashes up to six times thicker, increasing with each stroke of the brush. Alber Elbaz has made Hypnôse his bride, offering it a dress scattered with eyes. A natural accolade for the original, for the one and only Hypnôse …

North Americans are accustomed to Lancôme’s Color Design eyeshadow formula in their singles and palettes. This collaboration makes the european Hypnôse eyeshadow formula to North Americans for the first time. It is a creamier formula than Color Design. I am excited to try it out.

  • Hypnôse 5 colour Palette ($56 CAD) brings make-up artist results within the reach of every woman, thanks to its variable intensity technology, Wet technology and magnetic high-precision professional applicators.
  • Hypnôse ($34 CAD) also offers high luminosity eyeshadow monos, again adorned with polkadot, heart or star motifs.

And now for the most exciting part of the collection. For the first time ever Lancôme is releasing false eye lashes! These lashes are not only beautiful, and completely wearable, but they are also housed in the most gorgeous collectable Alber Elbaz designed box!

Finally, in an ultimate statement of his love for bold lines and for excess, Alber Elbaz completes this temporary collection with false lashes ($35 CAD) showcased in illustrated cases, representing a modern reinterpretation of the original Lancôme tradition. Infused with a joyous sense of profusion, this feather-weight accessory offers XXL beauty – a brand new way of cultivating your beauty in a way that is fun, fashionable and frivolous.

I think the Lancôme Show by Alber Elbaz Collection is so well executed. These are very wearable, staple products housed in absolutely stunning and unique packaging without inflated pricing. You can get it as early as tomorrow, June 15th, 2013 at select Bay locations. The False Lashes are exclusively available at The Bay.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments ~ Black Mystery & Never Fade Jade ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

The new Maybelline Color Tattoo by Eye Studio Pure Pigments ($8.99 CAD) come in 10 shades ranging from neutrals to bold. They offer double dipped pigment technology for intense colour payoff in loose powder form. I have been testing Black Mystery and Never Fade Jade and I must say I am impressed. Never Fade Jade is a gorgeous green that has almost a glowing quality without being truly shimmery. Black Mystery isn’t the most pigmented black but it has a soft quality that creates a lovely effect and makes if very workable in the crease. It contains a fine blue sparkle that surprised me by not giving me any issues with fallout.

Make Up For Ever Summer 2013 Aqua Collection ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

The instant I saw the promo images for the MAKE UP FOR EVER Summer 2013 Aqua Collection I was totally, irrevocably, smitten. The shades are just so beautiful and the Aqua products never let me down. I wish I had all the products to show you, (because I NEED them all), but for now I will tempt you with these three beautiful pieces from the collection. I hope to pick up the rest of the Aqua Creams and the Aqua Eye liners as well.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Summer 2013 Aqua Collection

The Make Up for Ever Aqua Creams ($28 CAD/$23 US) are one of my go to products. They are incredible eye shadow bases but also come in shades that are complex enough, and opaque enough, to wear all by themselves or in combo with other Aqua Creams for a budge proof look. The releases for summer are all breathtaking. The gorgeous mint #53 Pearly Pastel Green, the pretty lilac #54 Pearly Mauve, and the glorious #52 Pearly Green Lagoon (shown below).

The summer collection introduces five new shades of MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Rouge ($29 CAD/$24 US). The five new shades bring a welcome injection of vibrancy to the Aqua Lip collection that it had been missing.

  • #16 Fuschia
  • #19 Pomegranate Pink
  • #20 Baby Pink
  • #17 Bright Coral
  • #18 Coral

Something else I found to be new is that some of the new shades include a very fine shimmer. None of the original shades released included any kind of shimmer that I am aware of (and I own eight of them). #18 Coral has a lovely subtle gold shimmer that just makes this already perfect shade of coral even more special. The MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Rouge formula is something truly special. It offers colour that will not move, budge, fade in any way for hour upon hour. I literally scrubbed my lips with a baby wipe and not a speck came off. You simply reapply the glossy topcoat as needed to maintain the glossy finish but the colour will not come off. I find I prefer this formula for really deep or intense shades as you must have the product applied perfectly evenly, as once it’s applied there is no changing it. While Coral is opaque I still have found, amongst all the shades I have, that shades like #8 Iconic Red are still my favourite for this formula. It’s a little easier to just swipe on some more coral or pink gloss or lipstick than it is an intense fuschia or deep wine. If you are headed out for a night on the town and really don’t want to worry about your summer lip fading then you can’t go wrong with these new shades though!

There are two new MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lip ($23 CAD/$19 US) lip liners as part of the Summer 2013 collection. They co-ordinate with their Aqua Rouge counterparts. #19C Pomegranate Pink, and #20C Baby Pink (shown below). Baby Pink is actually a perfect midtoned pink in my eyes. It isn’t the pastel pink the name infers. I think this would be an ideal lip liner for anyone that loves pink lips as it is a very  versatile shade and the Aqua Lip formula offers impeccable waterproof performance.
