Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Candy Coral and Fresh Pink

When I saw these come on sale for under $5 at Shoppers Drug Mart a couple months ago I knew I needed to pick up some more shades. I am so in love with the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes! I was still trying to be frugal so I selected two shades for myself and one for my mom. The two shades I picked up to add to my little growing collection were Candy Coral and Fresh Pink.

The Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes are a gel formula which provides the bouncy texture. It really is quite neat. They feel very lightweight like a powder and have no stickiness or tackiness at all. They melt into the skin and give a very natural effect as the blushes are sheer on pigment. This is what initially kept me from purchasing these blushes but I quickly learned to appreciate the beauty of this formula. Building up the colour may mean they take a little longer to apply but it yields such a soft, glowing, natural flush that it is well worth the effort.  Maybelline recommends applying these with your fingers but I have really been loving the application achieved by buffing these into my cheeks with a brush.

Candy Coral is a beautiful bright orange coral and Fresh Pink is the perfect medium pink.

I previously reviewed Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Orchid Hush, Rose Petal, and Hot Tamale so I thought it would be helpful to do some photos and swatches of all five shades together:

I am very pleased with the variety of shades I have from the lineup. Still doesn’t keep me from wanting them ALL! I find myself reaching for Hot Tamale and Fresh Pink most often.

Lise Watier Blush-On Powder in Rose Éclat from the India Gold Summer 2013 Collection ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

IMG_1218

The next piece in the amazing Lise Watier India Gold Summer 2013 Collection I’m going to show you is the Blush-On Powder in Rose Éclat ($26 CAD).

IMG_1226

The blush is a gorgeous soft pink that imparts a really lovely, delicate pink flush to the cheeks. It looks matte in the pan yet gives the cheeks a subtle satin glow. The formula is very powdery and kicks up a lot of product when you pick up the blush on a brush but the result on the cheeks is not at all powdery or chalky. I am really happy with this blush and the India Gold collection continues to impress me. The packaging of this blush is great. It is small and space efficient with a brush hidden in a compartment beneath the blush. There is a mirror inside the lid and the exterior of the lid has a cute reflective square indicating the shade inside.

Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Powder Bronzer in Medium for Summer 2013 ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

IMG_0380

Estée Lauder always knocks it out of the park with their Summer collections. They always have me dreaming of being a tanned beach babe. Something I am so totally NOT! We can always turn to bronzers thought to bring some sun kissed colour to our look and this year Estée Lauder brings us an extended line of four shades of their Bronze Goddess Powder Bronzer ($40 CAD) housed in an elegant tortoise shell compact. The bronzer contains a subtle shimmer that reflects light with buildable coverage to subtly warm your complexion or provide for dramatic facial contouring.  Sweep it onto your face, shoulders or décolletage to enhance skin with a beautiful, year round glow.

The above photograph represents how this bronzer appears on my skin. Very warm and sun kissed. The photograph below is the best I could do at capturing how it looks in the pan. It actually comes off as fairly neutral in the compact. I think this would be an excellent bronzer for anyone with a light, warm toned complexion and beyond. Even though this is in the shade medium it worked well pigment wise on my fair skin. It wasn’t too intense and the silky powder blends in beautifully. The coolness of my colouring however, did not work well with the warm tones. It brought out the orange undertones. Of course Medium is not meant for my skintone. I am sure the new Light shade would work much better! I am curious to see if it is a cooler toned shade. If you’ve seen it I would love to hear from you.

You can see in the swatch below that the shimmer is very delicate. It gives the skin a healthy radiance in a very discreet way. The shimmer is the most gorgeous copper colour. Such a refreshing alternative to the usual gold shimmer in bronzers. There is no chalkiness to the powder at all. The enclosed brush is a nice size and shape for touchups.
