The new COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara ($9.99 CAD) is designed to fire up the volume for a flamed out lash look with up to 3 times the volume.

I find what this mascara really excels at is length and separation. I mean just look at the before and after photos below. Where on earth did those lashes come from???

The Volume Igniter ™ brush has a unique short, fluffy, hourglass shape. COVERGIRL refers to the areas as zones:

  • Igniter Zone: The ends of the brush contain a high density of soft, hollow fiber bristles that soak up the mascara and release it to the lashes, sweeping them up and out for the wide-eyed look that every fashionista craves.
  • Volume Zone: The shorter bristles in the center of the brush increase the likelihood of core contact with the lashes, creating all over coverage.

It has a nice dry formula that sets quickly and allows you to build volume without clumping and doesn’t flake or smudge. It is also available in a waterproof formula but I haven’t tested it for comparison.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments ~ Black Mystery & Never Fade Jade ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

The new Maybelline Color Tattoo by Eye Studio Pure Pigments ($8.99 CAD) come in 10 shades ranging from neutrals to bold. They offer double dipped pigment technology for intense colour payoff in loose powder form. I have been testing Black Mystery and Never Fade Jade and I must say I am impressed. Never Fade Jade is a gorgeous green that has almost a glowing quality without being truly shimmery. Black Mystery isn’t the most pigmented black but it has a soft quality that creates a lovely effect and makes if very workable in the crease. It contains a fine blue sparkle that surprised me by not giving me any issues with fallout.

Lancome Vernis in Love in Jolis Mantins, Miss Coquelicot, and Rose Boudior ~ Photos, Swatches, Review

IMG_3082 I have three of the new Lancome Vernis In Love Nail Lacquers ($16 CAD/6 ml) to share with you today. There are a total of 20 shades available in the permanent lineup.  As I mentioned in my review of the Spring shade Peach Melodie the formula on these is exceptional. High shine, quick drying, and excellent coverage. The brush has a wide tapered design that makes application even more effortless. The swatch photos below show Jolis Mantins and Rose Boudior with two coats and Miss Coquelicot with only one. I did not apply a top coat as these all have high shine finishes and dry quickly on their own.

  • Jolis Mantins – Neutral beige with very subtle shimmer. Almost opaque coverage. It looks a little peachier on my nails than in the bottle but that could be my skintone.
  • Miss Coquelicot – Gorgeous, opaque in one coat, true red.
  • Rose Boudoir - Deep rose cream with a hint of fuchsia. A very sophisticated pink.

LancomeVernisInLove Tiny bottle but I like the savings of buying a smaller bottle. I never finish a nail polish. The fabulous wide brush just barely sneaks in the bottle opening.
