Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light and Mood Light ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

[caption id="attachment_8872" align="aligncenter" width="700"] Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder[/caption] I recently reviewed one of the new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders in Diffused Light. I was happy enough with the powder that I decided I had to try more shades. I came home with Ethereal Light and Mood Light. If they hadn't been out of stock of Luminous and Dim I likely would have purchased those as well. I was a little crazed at the time. I will reiterate the information on the powders I featured in my initial review.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

[caption id="attachment_8873" align="aligncenter" width="700"] Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light[/caption] Hourglass is a brand that offers a refined selection of products that are a prime example of quality over quantity. Their newest release, the new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders, are creating a lot of excitement in the beauty community as well as some confusion. I have seen negative reviews from people disappointed in these products as highlighters. They are not meant to be highlighters. They are meant

Makeup Wars ~ What This Beauty Blogger Packs for Vacation

So I'm not really going on vacation. Oh how I WISH I were going on vacation. Even just for a weekend. It is just not in the cards right now, nor will it be for quite a long time. Given that in years past my hubby and I have gone on a few tropical winter getaway vacations, including our wedding, I am not unfamiliar with how I pack for these things, so were are going to exercise a bit of imagination here. Now when I go on vacation, and I mean a week long proper vacation, I don't really concern myself with packing light when it

Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Exhibition – Swatches and Review

Zuneta's website describes Exhibition as - Pale icy sugar plum meets rich smokey prune. That is a very apt description. I'm not exactly sure why but I was expecting the duo to be more purple. But no matter, I love it. One thing Zuneta is amazing for is the most accurate shade descriptions of products I've ever come across. You can really achieve a great smokey look with this. I sometimes find myself wishing the smokey prune colour wasn't quite so dark so it would be more usable in the crease on a daily basis but I find this duo

Face of the Day with NARS Dogon

I promised when I reviewed the NARS Dogon Eye Shadow duo here that I would post my FOTD pics from my third attempt at making Dogon work for me. As you can see it's passable but the fact the dark shade didn't blend well is still apparent. I don't know if there is just something about me and NARS that don't mix but my eagerness to continue to find NARS products that work for me is beginning to wane. I know there is tremendous love out there for the brand so I don't think I'll give up hope completely just yet ;-)Products Used:Face:Le

Hourglass Aura Sheer Cheek Stain in Flush – Swatches and Review

The shade Flush is described as sheer rouge. When applied it looks just like that natural flush of one's skin so I find that shade name quite appropriate! It looks incredibly natural and not like you are wearing any makeup at all as it melts into the skin. It is very easy to blend out and I had no troubles applying it. The first time I wore it I applied after I had put on my "face" and I had some fading. Actually it pretty much disappeared. The second time I waited to apply a light dusting of setting powder until after I had
