Guerlain Shine Automatique Lipstick in 761 Flirt for Spring 2013 ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

Flirt from the Guerlain Spring 2013 collection is my first Shine Automatique lipsticks. Actually it’s my first Automatique lipstick period so this is my first adventure with this unique packaging. There is no cap. You simply slide up the the trigger on the side of the tube and the window on the top slides back to allow the lipstick bullet to rise up from inside the tube. Works great for one handed application and is very fun. I find the tiny bullet of lipstick looks very odd against the big packaging though.

For the fun and flirty girl who wants to add a little sparkle into her life, Guerlain introduces Shine Automatique. This moisturizing and long-lasting lipstick combines bold color with pearly particles to give your lips discreet yet exceptional shine. Lips are left soft, smooth, and luminous.

Flirt is a vibrant berry that comes across as a berry fuchsia on the lips. It has refined multi coloured sparkle that give the lipstick a glow that doesn’t appear glittery. It has a really light consistency which would have you believe it would come off quite sheer but it is so packed with pigment it offers almost opaque, and completely even, coverage. It has amazing lasting power for such a comfortable formula and leaves the lips with a soft stain.

Guerlain 14 Les Fauves 4 Ecrin Couleurs Palette from Fall 2012 ~ Swatches, Photos, Review

As you may or may not have noticed I went on a bit of a shopping spree last weekend! I had seen some reviews of the Guerlain Les Fauves Ecrin 4 Couleurs palette but for some reason never gave them much thought. Cafe Makeup in particular was very won over by Les Fauves.

I think maybe the fact the palette is so warm is what initially had me put it out of my mind but as soon as I swatched it in person and experienced the glorious pigment and texture I knew it had to be mine. This is just such an amazing palette of colours to bring out blue eyes. Unless you are very cool toned I recommend checking out this palette if you have blue eyes. Luckily I run cool-neutral with the added help of my red hair allowing me to wear warmer shades on my cool skin.

There is a rich red toned brown, satin finish warm almost orange toned chocolate brown shade, a shimmering amber tan that surprised me with it’s complexity and a bright coral with a soft glow. The shades work beautifully together to create a flattering eye with a subtle twist on the typical neutrals. All the shades are smooth, pigmented, and blend beautifully.
Swatches:

When I tested this palette I used the top middle shade in the crease, right shade on the lid and inner corner, and the left shade on the outer v. Then I used the bottom coral shade as a blush. Yes a blush! I help myself from wondering how this gorgeous coral would perform as a blush and it worked magnificently. I will try to get a Face of the Day post up shortly.
I purchased this at Shoppers Drug Mart. The Guerlain Fall 2012 Femme Fatale Collection is also available at Holt Renfew, The Bay, Sephora,  Nordstrom,  and Neiman Marcus.

Face of The Day with the Guerlain by Emilio Pucci Capri Quad

Here is the second look I attempted with Guerlain Capri. The first was a total fail. The charcoal brown is much to intense to use in my crease and looked very dirty. This look is better but I think I must admit this palette just doesn’t work with my colouring and it needs a new home.
