Makeup Wars Fall Look ~ Changing Leaves Inspired

This weeks Makeup Wars Challenge is for our favourite fall look. Fall just happens to be my favourite season. I love the crisp air and sunshine. The beautiful changing leaves bring forth all my most loved colours in nature. Autumn has always been the colour palette that speaks to me the most. My hair isn’t a hint at all is it? ;-)
I wanted to create an eye look that incorporated all the glorious changing leaves around me. I immediately turned to my arsenal of almost 100 Fyrinnae shades to find the perfect representations of the fiery fall leaves (and the not yet changed).

Edward Bess South of France Quad Royale 01 – Swatches, Pics, Review

I think I had seen some reviews of the Edward Quad Royale in South of France but it wasn’t until I read Cafe Makeup’s post on her Edward Bess experience at Bergdorf Goodman that I really paid attention. I think because the majority of reviews I had seen for the Quad Royale palettes were for the darker, warmer variations Monte Carlo and Summer in Capri I was under the misguided perception they were too dark for me.

I am so glad I decided to order South of France from Zuneta. It is so unbelievable gorgeous and chic!

The top left shade is a pretty, softly shimmering peach beige. Top right is a gorgeous soft pink sharing the same soft shimmer. The bottom right shade a more nude beige with the same subtle glow. Bottom left a mauve pink with a slightly iridescent golden glow. Both bottom shades are richly pigmented while the top are more on the sheer side. I didn’t really care for the brush as it felt a bit rough on my skin and caused quite the flyaway mess with the powder but I don’t tend to use brushes that come with compacts so that doesn’t really bother me. Actually I wish brands would just stop putting brushes in compacts all together. I would much prefer sleeker, more compact packaging.
Above pics taken in natural light. Below pics in warm direct sunlight.

I have swatched the shades clockwise starting at the top left with all shades used together first on the far left.

I think Visionary Beauty is right about this functioning more as a blush on fair skin. I like that I can stick to just the top two shades to highlight and either the whole palette or just the bottom two shades for a subtle blush. I haven’t tried it out on my eyes yet but I’ll keep you posted on my thoughts if I do.
Available online at Zuneta, Sephora, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman.
