Bronze Glow Summer Makeup Look

I thought I would share this look with you from last week that I was particularly pleased with. Even though my skin leans cool neutral I still love using warm shaded to bring out my blue eyes and I find I can pull them off quite well. Especially when summer rolls around I find myself reaching for warmer makeup more and more. I find warm bronze and peach shades combined with glowy skin to be the perfect summer makeup. Makeup Wars | My Favourite Highlighters and Illuminating Products

This week the Makeup Wars members are sharing our favourite illuminating products. This is probably one of my favourite cosmetics categories for two reasons. Firstly I have very dry, dull skin and I need a lot of assistance in the glow department. Secondly I am very picky when it comes to products in this category so finding the right product is always a struggle for me. I guess I kind of enjoy the challenge and the subsequent joy and satisfaction of finding a product that meets my expectations. Why am I so picky? Well when it

Makeup Wars Fall Look ~ Changing Leaves Inspired

This weeks Makeup Wars Challenge is for our favourite fall look. Fall just happens to be my favourite season. I love the crisp air and sunshine. The beautiful changing leaves bring forth all my most loved colours in nature. Autumn has always been the colour palette that speaks to me the most. My hair isn't a hint at all is it? ;-)I wanted to create an eye look that incorporated all the glorious changing leaves around me. I immediately turned to my arsenal of almost 100 Fyrinnae shades to find the perfect representations of the

Edward Bess South of France Quad Royale 01 – Swatches, Pics, Review

I think I had seen some reviews of the Edward Quad Royale in South of France but it wasn't until I read Cafe Makeup's post on her Edward Bess experience at Bergdorf Goodman that I really paid attention. I think because the majority of reviews I had seen for the Quad Royale palettes were for the darker, warmer variations Monte Carlo and Summer in Capri I was under the misguided perception they were too dark for me.I am so glad I decided to order South of France from Zuneta. It is so unbelievable gorgeous and chic! The top left shade

Well of course I had to try it for myself! Edward Bess All Over Seduction in Sunlight – Swatches and Review

I have had my eye on this product for a very long time. I'm always nervous buying highlighters sight unseen as I'm a bit of a glitterphobe and like my highlighters to be very subtle and not glittery. I'm so happy I finally decided to make the splurge! All Over Seduction in Sunlight ($38 US) is the perfect, natural glow I've been dreaming of. There is no sparkle or glitter just a beautiful, luminous sheen. The colour is very neutral and works wonderfully with my pale complexion.  Create naturally luminous skin for ultimate

Edward Bess Ultra-Luminous Eye Shadow in Dusk – Swatches and Review

This is the third and final installment in my reviews of the Edward Bess Ultra-Luminous eye shadows in my collection. I have reviewed Escape and Intimate already. As with the other shades in this line, Dusk is a staple colour offering beautiful pigment, blendability and a sophisticated shimmer that is never too much. Dusk is a dark greyed brown with a hint of khaki. It looks fabulous paired with Intimate for a simple eye when in a hurry. Another happy Edward Bess addition to my collection! From the Edward Bess website:Dress the

Edward Bess Ultra-Luminous Eye Shadow in Intimate- Swatches and Review

From the Edward Bess website:Dress the eyes in luminous color incredibly smooth to the touch. Ultra rich texture adds depth and dimension. Sleek designer compact complete with mirror for touch ups on the go.I'm really pleased with the Edward Bess line of eye shadows. They are well pigmented and blendable. They have a subtle luminous glow without obvious sparkle or glitter so they are perfect for crease work especially when you no longer have the eyelids of a 20 year old ;-) They are all basic, everyday shades which should not be

Face of the Day with Some New Favourite Combos – Le Metier de Beaute, Edward Bess and Chanel

Here is the look I threw together the other day for work that resulted in some new favourite combos. I really loved the effect of applying Edward Bess Escape on my lids and into the crease and then Le Metier de Beaute Tuscan Sunset layered on top of my mobile lid. I also added some MAC Hadwritten into the outer V for more definition. I also am madly in love with the lip combo of Chanel Coquette Rouge Allure from the Spring 2011 collection topped with Coral Love Glossimer released Fall 2010.** I apologize. I labelled the pics with

Edward Bess Ultra-Luminous Eye Shadow in Escape – Swatches and Review

Edward Bess Ultra-Luminous Eye Shadow in Escape is my first and only Edward Bess eye shadow. Don't worry...I see that changing very shortly. I haven't seen many reviews online of Escape but it was the first colour I was drawn to. This shade sets of blue eyes wonderfully. It is richly pigmented with a subtle and sophisticated glow.  It is complex without being flashy. I fully intend to have all of the Edward Bess eye shadows in my collection eventually. They apply and last beautifully and blend like a dream. I used this eye

Quick Face of the Day with Le Metier de Beaute and Edward Bess

Bad Hair Day Look for the Day

Well this was a very bad hair day. Apparently my hair decided not to curl and I look like poop with my hair pulled back...but oh well. I decided to go overboard with my makeup to distract! I realized when I got to work that I was wearing 5 different eye shadows from 4 different brands. Summer 2011 Bronzer Swatches/Comparison: Dior Aurora, Chanel Bronze Rose, Edward Bess Daydream

Being very fair I have shied away from bronzers for quite a while now. It used to be a regular part of my look but a couple years ago I embraced my pale skin and hadn't looked back. Well the rave reviews of the Edward Bess Ultra Luminous Bronzer on Cafe Makeup and The Beauty Look Book had me reconsider my aversion to bronzers. Well I love the Edward Bess bronzer. It is very natural on my fair skin and does not turn muddy or orange at all and has converted my into a bronzer lover! Now in prior years the Summer Collections were
