Boost Your Skin’s Glow with Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster

Clarins Glow Booster 1

The new Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster ($30 CAD/$30 US) has got to be one of the most genius products I’ve seen in a while. It is just so perfect! It is a made-to-measure self tan product.

Clarins Glow Booster 2

The cute 15ml vial/bottle holds the self-tanning liquid that you can add to your favourite moisturizer. Simply press the bottom of the vial to dispense 2-3 drops which is all you need to build a natural and beautiful colour that gives your complexion that added radiance and glow. No gross self tanner smell and no worrying about finding a formula that works with your skin and doesn’t break you out or cause sensitivity. You don’t have to add another topical product to your routine. You simply mix the drops of Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster with the product you are already using. One bottle will last you about 3 months.

Clarins Glow Booster 3

Very precise quantities of natural DHA and erythrulose were studied by Clarins Research, resulting in a formula that promotes a very natural-looking tanned colour. It gives fair complexions a pretty sun-kissed glow and warms darker complexions in just a few hours. You can also adjust the intensity of the tan by reapplying every day, until the desired colour is obtained. When the product is no longer applied, the tan gradually fades.

Shown with the Clarins HydraQuench Cream for Normal to Dry Skin. I perfect combo transitioning from dry winter ravaged skin into spring.

Clarins Glow Booster 4

I am loving the incredibly natural results this product offers and the way I can customize it’s use to suit me perfectly. I like my fair skin so I like that I can use it very moderately to give me a little bit of healthy colour and balance out my skin with my freckles while looking completely natural.

Makeup Wars | My Favourite Highlighters and Illuminating Products

This week the Makeup Wars members are sharing our favourite illuminating products. This is probably one of my favourite cosmetics categories for two reasons. Firstly I have very dry, dull skin and I need a lot of assistance in the glow department. Secondly I am very picky when it comes to products in this category so finding the right product is always a struggle for me. I guess I kind of enjoy the challenge and the subsequent joy and satisfaction of finding a product that meets my expectations. Why am I so picky? Well when it comes to highlighters and illuminators I do not like glitter. At all. Even shimmer is pushing it. I want the product to offer a natural glow and sheen without looking too sparkly. I want a refined finish.

Illuminating Primers – Give your complexion an all over glow with these illuminating primers. Some are quite sheer like the Burberry Fresh Glow and others more concentrated like the Dior Glow Maximizer.

Dior Glow Maximizer ($42 CAD) has quite a strong golden glow. It can be mixed with your foundation to boost skin’s radiance, patted full strength on top of your makeup as a highlighter in light catching areas, or even used sparingly as a primer all over under foundation if you are in dire need of some radiance as I sometimes do.

Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base – A sheer fluid with very fine champagne shimmer. An amazing primer.

Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Rose ($37 CAD) this opalescent pink translucent fluid feels hydrating and gives skin a lovely radiance. It feels really light and I adore the finish of the Rose shade. This is a new permanent product released with the spring collection and it also comes in Champagne and Peach.

NARS Pro-Prime Light Optimizing Primer SPF 15 ($38 CAD) has the benefit of light sun protection and it offers a very subtle, completely neutral, illumination to the skin.  It contains red algae to revitalize skin as well as Vitamins A, C, and E to ward off free radicals. It really works well as a base and feels very light, absorbing quickly into the skin.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Illuminator SPF25+ – This is an all over moisturizer/primer but is concentrated enough to be used as a spot highlighter as well. Pearl is more my shade but right now I only have a travel size of Opal that I use in my pro kit.

Liquid Highlighters – I love the ease of using a liquid highlighter. You can mix them into your foundation or skincare for a luminous glow or apply them to the high points of your face for a glow that blends right into your skin.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Sea of Tranquility Highlighting Liquid – A opalescent pink highlighter that is highly pigmented.

Benefit High Beam Luminescent Complexion Enhancer – I similar shade to Sea of Tranquility in a slightly sheerer finish.

Benefit Sun Beam Golden Bronze Complexion Highlighter – A warm golden glow. A only have a sample size but this is such a great way to warm the complexion.

Highlighting Pens – I don’t find these really highlight or illuminate much but they work great for brightening up the under eye area and disguising shadows and bags.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch in 1 and 2

Cream Highlighters – Like liquids these blend in so naturally to the skin for a lit from within glow on the high points of your face.

Illuminators Highlighters07

Illuminators Highlighters08

Edward Bess All Over Seduction in Sunlight – This is a sheer natural champagne shade with a refined glow. A favourite of many Edward Bess fans.

Benefit Watt’s Up! Soft Focus Highlighter – A similar champagne glow as the Edward Bess cream but in a more concentrated stick form.

Powder Highlighters – I find these are the kinds of highlighters are reach for most often as they just seem quicker and easier sometimes. It can be tricky to find ones that aren’t to sparkly and glittery for my taste. Here are some currently available ones that I adore.

Illuminators Highlighters13

Giorgio Armani Belladonna Highlighting Palette – Don’t miss out on this amazing limited edition Spring 2014 highlighter. It has the most stunning champagne sheen and is an incredibly luxurious formula.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Sweet to Touch Highlighting Powder – This more pink toned powder highlighter is incredibly refined, smooth, and naturally luminous.

Limited Edition Discontinued Powder Highlighter Favourites – Highlighters are often part of limited edition seasonal releases and here are some of my no longer available go to favourites.

Clarins Spring 2014 Opalescence Collection | Photos, Swatches, Review

Clarins Spring 20142

The Spring 2014 Clarins Opalescence Collection has some stunning new products to ease your way into spring. I am mesmerized by the stunning packaging on the Limited Edition Face and Blush Powder. It has the most amazing holographic opalescent top on the compact. I have a selection of items from the collection to share with you. There is also a Limited Edition Vibrant Light Eye Quartet and new permanent Cream Blushes released with the collection as well. I am so interested in the cream blushes. If you have tried them please let me know your thoughts on them in the comments.

Clarins Spring 20143

The Limited Edition Face & Blush Powder ($40 CAD) is a smooth matte powder that has a soft finish that doesn’t look at all powdery or chalky. The powder consists mainly of a light peach base with accents of coral and brown. The gold seen is just an overspray that is very easily removed. You can build up this powder to use as a blush or contour but I find it is best used all over the complexion. It even works on my fair skin this way when applied lightly. Applied a little more heavily I can achieve a more natural sun kissed effect on my skin. I think what makes this beautifully designed collectors palette release unique is that it has a matte finish. It’s something we don’t see often enough.

Clarins Spring Swatches1

Clarins Spring 2014 Face & Blush Powder | Peach, Coral, Brown individually, swirled together.

There are three new permanent shades of the Clarins Joli Rouge Perfect Shine Sheer Lipstick ($27 CAD) being released with the collection. This is my first experience with this formula and WOW do I ever love it! It is so glossy. It offers a nice amount of sheer pigment and has a light fruity scent. It feels more like a lip balm than a lipstick. It is so hydrating with all the lip care ingredients. I love having the shine and transparency of a gloss with the convenience and feel of a balmy lipstick. The shade shown is 21 Pink Orchid. The other two shades are 19 Tropical Pink and 20 Coral Tulip.

Clarins Spring 20144

The collection also includes a two new permanent shades of Gloss Prodige ($ CAD) 11 Coral Tulip and 12 Crystal. Crystal is a completely clear gloss without shimmer. I’m not a fan of clear glosses myself but if you are then you will love the Gloss Prodige formula which has a smooth gel finish and is non sticky. You can see in the swatches below that the Joli Rouge Lipstick is so glossy that you can’t even see a real difference adding the clear gloss on top.

There is a new permanent shade of Clarins Mineral Eye Shadow ($22 CAD) released with the collection called Smokey Plum. It is a smokey grey plum taupe. Lovely and complex. It applied with nice pigmentation and shimmer dry and more metallic when applied wet.

I already introduced you to the Clarins Instant Light Radiance Booster in Rose ($37 CAD) in my Top Ten Tuesday Top 10 Primers post. This opalescent pink translucent fluid feels hydrating and gives skin a lovely radiance. It feels really light and I adore the finish of the Rose shade. This is a new permanent product released with the spring collection and it also comes in Champagne and Peach. I am dying to see how the other shades look.
