Chanel Precieuse Rouge Allure from the Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Collection ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

The second piece I picked up from the Chanel Spring 2013 collection is the Rouge Allure in Precieuse. I had seen swatches of the lipsticks but just kind of carried on and went meh. Leave it to me to actually finally make it to a counter and get sucked in by the SA. OK that’s not fair. She was actually amazing but she swatched it on my hand and I couldn’t help myself. Thank goodness I kept her from swatching anymore of the lipsticks for me! Online (as will happen when you read my review) you miss this subtle pink glow that eminates from this nude peach lipstick. Try as I might I couldn’t get my picks to not look pure peach. Even in the tube the lipstick looks more of a peachy rose nude. Not as golden as it looks here. The very fine shimmer in the lipsticks gives off a pink glow that almost gives this delicate peach shade a soft duochromatic effect.

Here you can see the gorgeous delicate shimmer.

The true nature of this lipstick is better reflected in these skin and lip swatches.

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner in Or Rose from Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Makeup Collection ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

The Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner in Or Rose was a piece from the Chanel Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Makeup Collection I had every intention of passing on. It looked pretty when I saw reviews online but I convinced myself I didn’t need it. The Chanel Style Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner formula is a very long wearing, budgeproof formula that can sometime prove a little dry and rough depending on the shade. I have heard that with Or Rose in particular some were experiencing softer, creamier pencils while others were getting harder ones that were more stubborn to lay down product. Mine seems to be more on the softer side. It applies nicely and doesn’t have any of the roughness I experienced with Rose Platine (which I ended up parting with).

Or Rose is a beautiful peach gold. Like the Signee de Chanel powder I wish it had a bit more of pink to it to reflect the Rose in it’s name. When swatched under the lights at the counter I could see the subtle nuance of pink but in use it really doesn’t come across.

Now to the reason I ended up purchasing Or Rose when I had every intention of passing it by. It’s a perfect companion to the Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder. It just made me happy inside to see these two gorgeous champagnes swatched side by side on the back of my hand when I was at the counter. I also didn’t own a pencil in this type of brightening shade for my lower waterline.

In the end I think I wish I would have gone with my original instinct to pass. Given that my skin is so fair Or Rose is actually darker than my skintone thus not providing a brightening effect in my waterline or inner corner of my eye unless the light is hitting it and therefore providing brightening from the reflection of the shimmer. It is a gorgeous pencil but I think best suited to those with a deeper complexion than mine.

Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Merveille and Attirance from Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Makeup Collection ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

IMG_6483

The Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss formula is my favourite, non-staining, lip gloss formula followed closely by their Glossimers. When I saw there were two new shades being released as part of the Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Makeup Collection I knew I needed both. I adore how densely pigmented these glosses are. Attirance is a little more sheer than most of the glosses in the line but no less beautiful.

IMG_6487

Attirance is accurately described by Chanel as a coppery beige. It has a bit more transparency than most Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss glosses but it is still packed with enough pigment to be worn solo. There is no grittiness and the gloss is ultra smooth and comfortable. It last several hours and leaves only a hint of of the ultra fine shimmer behind when it wears off. I love that this is warm copper as opposed to the peaches we usually see for spring. It is a very unique shade to my collection.

Merveille is described as a lilac rosewood. It is even more purple than I was expecting and I LOVE it. It has full dense pigment that rivals a liquid lipstick. It has lovely, ultra fine, delicate, dimensional shimmer. Like Attirance it lasts for hours and leaves only a hint of shimmer behind after it evenly wears away.

When I first saw Merveille I thought it looked pretty close to Troublant from Fall 2012 (another HUGE love of mine) but they are quite different as shown below. Merveille is decidedly more purple while Troublant is more of a brown plum.
