Bright Eyes, Glowy Skin, Rosy Cheek Look

Here is the look from when I was testing several new products for review. I'm totally in love with how it turned out. For some reason I don't often wear really light/bright shades on the lid but I am now obsessed with the L'Oreal Infallible 24hr eyeshadow in Hourglass Beige. I only tightlined my upper waterline and didn't line my upper lash line so I would have more of my hooded lid space showing and emphasize the brightening and eye opening effect. I have yet to review several of these items aside from the Chanel. Stay

Chanel Precieuse Rouge Allure from the Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Collection ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

The second piece I picked up from the Chanel Spring 2013 collection is the Rouge Allure in Precieuse. I had seen swatches of the lipsticks but just kind of carried on and went meh. Leave it to me to actually finally make it to a counter and get sucked in by the SA. OK that's not fair. She was actually amazing but she swatched it on my hand and I couldn't help myself. Thank goodness I kept her from swatching anymore of the lipsticks for me! Online (as will happen when you read my review) you miss this subtle pink glow

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner in Or Rose from Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Makeup Collection ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

[caption id="attachment_8395" align="aligncenter" width="700"] Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner in Or Rose[/caption] The Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner in Or Rose was a piece from the Chanel Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Makeup Collection I had every intention of passing on. It looked pretty when I saw reviews online but I convinced myself I didn't need it. The Chanel Style Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner formula is a very long wearing, budgeproof formula that can sometime

Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Merveille and Attirance from Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Makeup Collection ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

The Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss formula is my favourite, non-staining, lip gloss formula followed closely by their Glossimers. When I saw there were two new shades being released as part of the Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Makeup Collection I knew I needed both. I adore how densely pigmented these glosses are. Attirance is a little more sheer than most of the glosses in the line but no less beautiful. Attirance is accurately described by Chanel as a coppery beige. It has a bit more transparency than most Rouge

Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder from the Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Makeup Collection ~ Photos, Swatches, and Review

I've never gotten over my regret from missing out on the Chanel Les Scintillances de Chanel Lumiere Sculptee de Chanel Highlighting Powder from Holiday 2011. When I saw the Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder from the Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Makeup Collection I knew I could not let it pass me by. It had to be mine! The compact is a bit larger than the standard Chanel Joues Contraste and quad compacts and contains 8g/0.28oz of product. The compact comes nestled in a velvet pouch with a flip over cover

Makeup Wars ~ My Valentine’s Day Look

This week for Makeup Wars we are sharing our Valentine's Day looks. I doubt I'll actually be going out for Valentine's Day, old married life for ya, but I thought I would approach this by going for a softer, more romantic look than I usually wear. I was inspired to create a look of all soft pastel pinks and purples to achieve an innocent "girly" look. I paired it with a gently, glossy pink lip which in the pictures made me look pretty washed out. In reality it looked a little more balanced. I decided to make two very minor, easy,

Makeup Wars Holiday Look ~ My Festive Face of the Day

This week, for the Makeup Wars, we are featuring a holiday look. I love the holidays because it's a time where you can go over the top with your makeup and it is totally acceptable. Not that I really care what anyone else thinks but it's fun to know that the holidays mean blingy, amazing makeup and that going a little over the top is a little more "acceptable". So the following look didn't actually make it to a holiday party. It did make it too an early family Christmas dinner though. I was super happy with how this turned out. I

Chanel Notorious Ombre Contraste Sculpting Veil for Eyes and Cheeks ~ Photos, Swatches, Review

[caption id="attachment_5740" align="aligncenter" width="500"] Chanel Notorious Ombre Contraste Sculpting Veil for Eyes and Cheeks[/caption] Fair skin and contouring. The age old dilemma, (OK maybe I'm exaggerating), of finding a suitable product for contouring that doesn't look, orange, brown, muddy on pale skin. Well cue angels singing! Chanel Notorious has answered our prayers! Well scratch angels singing. All I hear in my head is Duran Duran! Notorious! I'm going to be singing that word in my head all day. I just know

Foundation Swatches for the Perilously Pale

I am FINALLY posting some foundation swatches for you. I can't believe that I started Perilously Pale over a year ago and have never done foundation swatches, or reviews for that matter, for you. I apologize. Helping my fellow fair complected beauties navigate the world of beauty was my reason for starting this website and not having done this earlier is unacceptable. Bad blogger! Here are swatches of the following foundations:Cover FX Cream Foundation E0Cover FX Cream Foundation C10Face Atelier Ultra Foundation 1Make Up For Ever

Makeup Wars Most Expensive Face Challenge

When I heard that our next Makeup Wars challenge was to create our most expensive face I knew it was a project I could excel at. If you are a regular reader of this blog you know that I have a weakness for luxury and niche cosmetics. This really has been an eye opening experience. I can certainly admit that I have a little bit of a "problem" but my problem is your gain. Seeing it all laid out like this is a bit frightening. It is both my passion and my crutch. This post reminded me of why I started this blog. I needed to give my

Chanel Rouge Coco in 45 Caractere from Les Essentials de Chanel for Fall 2012 ~ Swatches, Photos, Review

The final item I picked up from the Les Essentials de Chanel collection was the Rouge Coco in 45 Caractere. Chanel describes this as a rose brown. I would be more inclined to describe it as a plum brown emphasis on the plum. I've been a long time fan of the Rouge Coco formula. I know some find it to be drying but I have never found it drying on my lips. I like that it doesn't have slip and stays put and comfortable. I'm not quite decided on how I feel about Caractere. While I adore the shade I am not overly fond of

Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in 67 Caprice and 68 Troublant from Les Essentiels de Chanel Fall 2012 ~ Swatches, Photos, Review

I absolutely adore the Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss formula and have reviewed Genie and Emoi in the past. It has excellent coverage, long wearing, a comfortable feel, and sophisticated finish. I find it more like a liquid lipstick than a traditional gloss but even better in my books because I find most liquid lipsticks too thin in consistency. When I first saw the press releases for the Les Essentiels de Chanel collection I knew I needed the new limited edition shades 67 Caprice and 68 Troublant for fall.CHANEL reveals a next

Chanel Lumiere d’Artifices Beiges Illuminating Powder Applied as Subtle Bronzer on Fair Skin

I mentioned in my review of the Chanel Lumiere d'Artifices Beiges Illuminating Powder from the Les Essentials de Chanel Fall/Autumn 2012 collection that I was enjoying using it as a subtle bronzer on my fair skin. I thought I would share some pics of it for you so you could see it being used in this manner on my light, cool skin. I have heard some mention of other cool toned Chanel fans finding it swatched too peachy and warm on their skin. I do find in heavier swatches it is warm but applied lightly on the face with a brush it

Chanel Lumiere d’Artifices Beiges Illuminating Powder with Shimmer From Les Essentials de Chanel Fall/Autumn 2012 Collection ~ Swatches, Photos, Review

I can't believe I've had this for two days now and haven't had a chance to share it with you! Please forgive my lack of posting. We are on "vacation" at the moment and while sticking close to home it has still been a busy couple of weeks.Chanel describes the Lumiere d'Artifices Beiges Illuminating Powder with Shimmer from the Les Essentials de Chanel Fall/Autumn 2012 collection as follows:Designed to extend a summer glow, this limited-edition duo of lighter and darker beige shades — enchantingly rendered to resemble sequins —

Les Essentials de Chanel Fall 2012 Joues Contraste 72 Rose Initiale Blush ~ Swatches, Photos, Review, Comparisons

Chanel describes Rose Initiale as a universally flattering blush for all skin tones. I don't doubt this to be true. It is just a perfect pink. Not too cool and not too warm. Not too bright and not too subtle. Not too matte and not too shimmery. Shall I go on? The Chanel Joues Contraste powder blush formula remains my favourite powder blush formula. My sizeable collection will attest to that. The US formula is satiny smooth, pigmented, and has the loveliest subtle glow that helps create a natural look on the cheeks that is neither

Chanel Summer 2012 Summertime de Chanel Glossimer in 337 Calypso – Swatches, Pics, Review

As soon as I saw the beautiful shade of the Chanel Calypso Glossimer from their Summer 2012 Summertime de Chanel collection and heard that is one of their more pigmented Glossimer shades I knew it needed to be mine. I am a big fan of Glossimers but in particular the more pigmented versions that stand on their own and are more than simply a lipstick topper. I have noticed however, that with their more recent releases there seems to be an issue with residual glitter on your lips (and sometimes even migrated around your lips) after

Comparisons of Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in 70 Tumulte, 64 Pink Explosion, and 71 Malice to other Chanel Blushes

When I first posted about the newest release of Chanel Joues Contraste blushes I promised to update you with a comparison of the new shades to previous Chanel blush releases. First up we have a comparison of the new Pink Explosion to the old baked release of Pink Explosion from the Fall 2010 collection. The newer version of course differs in formula but it is also a bit warmer and a bit deeper shade of pink.New Pink Explosion/Old Pink Explosion New Pink Explosion/Old Pink ExplosionNew Pink Explosion/Old Pink ExplosionThe closest
