I think one of the things the Elizabeth Arden brand is most known for, and recognized by, is their single dose Ceramide Capsules. The revolutionary introduction of these skin-identical ceramides (essential lipids found in the surface layer of skin that maintain the integrity of the skin’s barrier layer) began with the original Time Complex Capsules release in 1991. Further research resulted in the CLX Complex taking ceramides to the next level with the 2007 release of the Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum.
This newer version includes a Double Retinyl technology that delivers both retinyl palmitate and Elizabeth Arden’s patented, clinically proven retinyl linoleate. All these technologies work together to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, enhance natural collagen for firmer skin, and improve skin’s clarity. The capsules also contain antioxidant vitamin E to condition and protect skin and Borage Seed Extract to soothe and calm.
These single dose capsules actually contain a large amount of product. I find it way too much for a single use and get two generous applications out of these capsules. I love that the actives are staying fresh and stable in these adorable little pods. The serum is a clear, dry oil formula and has a smooth texture that glides onto the skin like silk. The first time I tried the product I wasn’t aware how large of an amount was inside so I did apply the entire capsule VERY generously to my face, decollate, and hands. Even though I had applied such a copious amount my skin literally drank it up. I couldn’t believe it. It was like this was just what my face had been craving. I have been using these once, sometimes twice, a day for the past few weeks and have noticed an improvement in the texture and tone of my skin. It feels a little plumper and more elastic and it feels so soft to the touch. It’s not often I can say I notice results with skincare but I really do think I am with these.
The Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum ($72 US/$86 CAD) contains 60 capsules (0.95 fl. oz.) in a nifty pop up release jar. I think this staple in the Elizabeth Arden range may just have to become a staple of my own.
