Win a Make Up For Ever HD Complexion Starter Kit in Your Shade! – Review & Giveaway

I still remember the release of the Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Foundation and all the associated hype. Even though one of my favourite foundations has always been Make Up For Ever Face & Body I somehow managed to go all this time without trying the infamous HD. Well I have finally tried it and I have an opportunity for you to win a chance to try it yourself. So what did I think?

If you are going to try out the HD Foundation what better way to do it than with the Make Up For Ever HD Complexion Starter Kit ($92 CAD).

First off the Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Foundation has an extensive shade range of 26 shades. It is one of the most impressive out there. The shade 115 Ivory is a wonderful match for me. It’s a tad dark but I need to work around my freckles! There are also some really fair shades that are more pink toned but I wanted to keep the shade more neutral to cancel out some of the pink in my skin rather than accentuate it. This foundation offers medium coverage with a very natural finish. I have been loving it.

Another great thing about this complexion kit for me was finally trying the Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Primer. For some reason I have always thought this was a standard silicone type primer. I’m not a huge fan of silicone primers so I had never tried it. While the HD Primer is silicone based it does not have the texture or feel of a typical silicone primer. Rather it has a light lotion like consistency and feels very hydrating thanks to the D-Panthenol & Glycerin. The kit also contains the small sized version of the HD High Definition Powder which is a translucent setting powder that offers a flawless and lightly mattified yet natural finish. The kit includes a incredibly soft Kabuki Brush for application of the HD Powder.

  • 1.01 oz HD Invisible Cover Foundation

Like the one that’s totally PINK? 107? I should look at it sometime. I just assume that is more pink than I want. I’ll have to peek!

Yepp, 107! Isn’t that sad? It’s not as pink as it shows – it blends perfectly for my ghost skin!

We have the identical complexion tones, just hat I’m a redhead. I have difficulty finding an ivory foundation and void the matte look, so I’ve been spritzing rosewater/glycerin. Would love to try the Makeup Forever formulation!

I love the finishing powder and the primers, but my dry skin really prefers Mufe Face & body. Looks good on you though

I wanted to order this during the Sephora VIB event but I couldn’t decide what shade I am, I live really far away from a Sephora so I was shopping online. So I decided to wait until I could look at the shades in person. I too have freckles, I will take a look at your shade.
