Lancôme DreamTone Ultimate Dark Spot Corrector Serum Review

LancomeDreamTone1

Every so often, as a beauty blogger, I run into the situation where I don’t want to discontinue use of a product and proceed to test the next products waiting in line. My experience with the Lancôme DreamTone Ultimate Dark Spot Corrector ($110 CAD/40 ml) is one of those situations.

LancomeDreamTone1

We all yearn for beautiful, even skin. Skin that looks radiant and even toned even without makeup. Most of us struggle with various colour disorders that leave us uncomfortable bearing it all. We can categorize these concerns two ways:

  • Those common to all skin tones such as pigmentation marks from lentigines (moles,freckles, etc.), post-inflammatory scarring spots, or melasma all resulting from an excess of melanin.
  • Those that are specific to skin tone such as redness for those with fair skin, sallowness for those with medium skin, and blemish marks for those with dark skin.

LancomeDreamTone2

The Lancôme DreamTone Ultimate Dark Spot Corrector Beautiful Skin Tone Creator takes into account these differences, as well as their new undertstanding of the molecular structure of pigmentation marks, with their release of 3 versions of this bespoke skincare. It is a Triple Action Technology for a new approach that targets melanocytes and melanotope with it’s core of actives. All three formulas contain a shared combination of three core actives and then adds specific ingredients for each of the pigmentation profiles:

  • Pigmentation Profile 1 (me): help target vascular dysfunction and fight against redness
  • Pigmentation Profile 2: help fight against sallow skin
  • Pigmentation Profile 3: target blemish marks

This is combined with non-tinted light diffusing agents to give instant improvements to skins radiance and texture.

  • pearly light reflecting agents that instantly enlighten the skintone;
  • composite pink and copper pigments that improve the homogeneity and iniformity of the skin;
  • light diffusing particles that enhance transparency and sublimate the hue of the skin.

The texture is light and fresh and absorbs immediately into the skin leaving it looking radiant and feeling silky. There is no stickiness or greasiness to speak of. I am obsessed with how amazing this feels on my skin. My skin is dry so I know I should be following up with moisturizer but often times I don’t as I just love how DreamTone looks and feels. And yes, I am seeing an improvement in my skin!

FYI I am trying to sort out why Profile 1 and 2 seem to have the same ingredient listing which I’m sure is incorrect. I pulled the ingredient data from Sephora but I will confirm it with my sources.

    I’ve been using #1 for about 3 days and I can’t believe the improvement in my redness. And my foundation is going on more smooth too. Magic potion!

      Did you not notice any fading at all Karla? I have definitely seen an improvement. I don’t expect them to totally disappear right away.
