shu uemura Fall 2013 Tri-Color Blending Eyeshadow Refills in Allure Mauve and Gypsy Brown – Photos, Swatches, Review

Get your 60’s mod vibe on with these super groovy single pan eyeshadow trios from shu uemura. The Eye-conic 30th Anniversary Collection shu uemura Tri-Color Blending Eyeshadow Refill ($42 CAD) comes in 5 colour combinations. I believe only 3 of them are available in Canada. I have Allure Mauve and Gypsy Brown to share with you.

I have shown the two trios housed in the limited edition Fuchsia-Fusion Palette ($21 CAD).

Each trio contains a glitter shade which has a creamy texture and an incredible ability to adhere to the skin as well as two richly pigmented and smooth eyeshadows that offer a glowing sheen rather than noticeable shimmer or sparkle. Allure Mauve consists of a white silver glitter shade with sparks of purple and aqua, a stunning purple, and a soft pale pink. Gypsy Brown has a champagne beige glitter shade with sparks of peach, a gorgeous rich warm brown, and a yellow gold.

I think the fact that these were three shades in one pan gave me the impression they would be somehow subpar. How silly of me to doubt the magic of shu uemura. These are absolutely fabulous! They apply, blend, and last incredibly well. The pigments are rich and true and the formula a delight to work with. Even the glitter shades, which you would expect to be difficult to work with, are wonderful. Even without a primer they have this amazing ability to adhere to the skin. As long as you are careful in your application to avoid creating fallout then you can make it through the day without glitter migrating everywhere throughout the day.
