DermOrganic Daily Conditioning Shampoo, Daily Hydrating Conditioner, and Intensive Hair Repair Masque Review

IMG_5028

I have been testing out DermOrganic Hair Care for a little over a month now and I am so happy to finally be sharing the information with you now. Here is a little summary of their philosophy and what they have to offer and it is exactly what I have been looking for.

At DermOrganic® we believe the ingredients we don’t use are just as important as the ones we do.

  • DermOrganic® products made without animal by-products and are never tested on animals.
  • DermOrganic® products are all vegan
  • DermOrganic® products contain no sulfates, glycols, DEA, MEA, dyes or food coloring
  • DermOrganic® products are Gluten-free
  • DermOrganic® products contain no artificial preservatives. Paraben-free
  • DermOrganic® products are made without salt, sodium chloride or other artificial thickeners

I’m going to share more information on the shampoo and conditioning products first.

Daily Conditioning Shampoo (350ml/12oz $21.50 CAD/$16 US) is made with facial cleansers derived from lipids and amino acids that moisturize and strengthen hair. It is gentle on hair and offers a great lather for a sulphate free shampoo.

Hair and skin rely on important nutrients such as Essential Fatty Lipids (EFAs) and Amino Acids. DermOrganic® is the only shampoo made with a proprietary blend of EFA Lipid and Amino-Acid based skin cleansers. That means it is the only shampoo to moisturize, strengthen and rebuild the hair every time you clean your hair!

It also contains Argan Oil with Omega-6 and Linoleic Acid, Vitamin E, Panthenol, Rice Amino Acids, and anti-oxidant plant extracts to preserve the life of hair color.

The shampoo is made without salt, sodium chloride or other artificial thickeners, variations in thickness will naturally occur. Here are the ingredients: Aqua/Eau/Water, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Methyl Gluceth-20, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Rice Amino Acids, PCA, Panthenol B5, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Glycereth-2 Cocoate/Benzoic Acid, Parfum/Fragrance. I love how short that list is!

I am so happy with this shampoo. It offers a lathering experience that doesn’t make me miss sulphate containing shampoos and it leaves my hair feeling so healthy and not stripped. I love how short and easy to understand the ingredient list is and how chocked full of hair healthy ingredients it is.

DermOrganic Daily Hydrating Conditioner (300ml/12oz $21.50 CAD/$16 US) works at the molecular level to neutralize tangled tresses without silicones, propylene glycol or glycerin. It is loaded with natural moisture factors, lipids and Panthenol B5 to increase absorption, improve slip, eliminate tangles and prevent flyaways. It leaves my hair feeling silky smooth and not weighed down at all. The ingredients are: Aqua/Eau/Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Stearalkonium Chloride, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Panthenol B5, Rice Amino Acids, Methyl Gluceth-20, Organic Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Organic Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Extract, Organic Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, PCA, Glycereth-2 Cocoate & Benzoic Acid, Parfum/Fragrance

The DermOrganic Masque Hair Repair (350ml/12oz $21.50 CAD/$16 US) is rich in rice amino acids that replicate the keratin structure of human hair. Repairs damage, seals the cuticle, neutralizes pH, and restores resilience to salon-treated hair. Made without silicone, propylene glycol or glycerin, use as often as desired for silky smooth hair without fear of buildup. YES! A hair treatment free of silicones and other buildup inducing ingredients. It deep conditions my hair while still leaving it light and full of body.

Why is it so good?
Hair fiber is made of amino acids. Hair’s moisture is primarily derived from lipids. That’s why we formulated Masque with a proprietary blend of rice amino-acids inside a lipid-based emulsification system. Instead of coating the hair, DermOrganic works deep, depositing amino acids to strengthen and smooth each individual hair from the inside out while replenishing real, natural moisture. It maintains a healthful balance between moisture and protein to keep your hair in its optimum health.

Ingredients: Aqua/Eau/Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behenamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Stearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Extract, Methyl Gluceth-20, Rice Amino Acids, Panthenol B5, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Glycereth-2 Cocoate/Benzoic Acid, Parfum/Fragrance

So what are my thoughts on the DermOrganic Shampoo and Conditioning Treatments? I am immensely pleased. I used them for about a month before beginning testing another system and I will return to them again. I can’t remember having this much body and volume in my hair. It actually has made me decide to grow my hair longer again! What better testament can I give you? I have so much root lift that I feel confident letting my hair get longer without feeling like I have limp curls stuck to the side of my head. The results paired with DermOrganics styling products, (which I am still using and will review shortly), have truly impressed me and made me love my hair again. Even after all the damage I did to it going blonde.

There are three sizes of the products available. I have shared the pricing info on the mid-sized products. The DermOrganic products are available on their website where they offer sets, promotional kits, and sample discovery kits. You can also locate salons and distributers on their website here. Just and FYI I have spotted the DermOrganic products in Winners and Marshalls stores. I acutally discovered that my sister was already using litre sized bottles of these that she picked up at Winners!

DermOrganic has been popping up on “all” the beauty blogs lately, with nary a negative review! It speaks volumes that you’re planning on returning to the line after your current product testing stint is over. I hope I find this at my local Winners!

I found the Intensive Masque the day after commenting. I resisted for weeks as I had two conditioners in my closet. Fast forward a month, a hair cut, a stylist saying my hair was “screaming for moisture”… and I’m on a mad hunt for the masque. Of course, none of the Winners I stalked had it anymore. Until tonight! I found a lone bottle, tucked in the back row, where none was before. Yippee!

I hope it works as well for me as it does for you, Christa!

  4. Iris says:

I’ve seen this line at Winners too and plan on trying it after I use up my stash.

I wish there was a salon which carried a full line of these.

  5. Taylor says:

I have recently picked up the mask and am loving it! I’m definitely thinking about the conditioner now as well.
