So you may have noticed by now that I have developed a bit of a “thing” for the Dior Smoky Trios. It began with Smoky Pink and Smoky Brown and my love has now expanded to Smoky Violet and now, my new absolute most favourite Dior Smoky Ready-to-Wear Smoky Eyes Palette, Smoky Khaki.

This Smoky Khaki palette it housed in the same gorgeous, and super cool, slide out/flip up packaging. There is a difference with this palette. The largest shade at the bottom of the palette that is designated as the base shade in the trios is much different with Smoky Khaki. Rather than being a softer, sheerer base shade that can be worn on the brow bone like in the other Smoky Trios I have tried, the base shade in Smoky Khaki is a rich, pigmented, buttery piece of heaven that is far too much to wear on one’s brow bone but is perfection on the lid. The way I wear this trio is completely different than the others I own. The other palettes I own in this series I typically wear with the top left in the crease, top right on the lid, and bottom on the brow bone and inner corner. With Smoky Khaki I wear the top left in the crease, the top right on the outer v into the crease and to line the upper lash line, and the bottom shade on the lid. It has become one of my go to eye looks that I have been reaching for multiple times in a week. That says a lot given the amount of eyeshadows I own!
If you love these kind of khaki and gold tones I highly suggest checking this palette out. I have been incredibly impressed with the quality and performance of the Dior Smoky Trios. Especially my favourites Smoky Khaki and Smoky Pink.

THis is so beautiful! The khaki shade seems to lean a bit more brown than I was expecting, but it’s beautiful nonetheless.
I had this one and gave it away bacause mine wasn´t as pigmented as yours. Now I have only Smokey Nude and that matte brown eye shadow is the best brown crease colour

Great trio, just reviewed the smoky brown one and although I love it, I have to say I wouldn’t buy another one. My wallet can’t take it!
I LOVE your blog for many reasons, but primarily because we have almost the exact same skin, hair and eye coloring. As such, when you do your eye make up using these gorgeous palettes, I can get a sense how they would look on me. I don’t know if you’re a trained make up artist but you do your eyes beautifully. I wish I had half the talent you do. This palette looks absolutely gorgeous on you and I’m hoping Sephora still has one in stock when I go there this weekend. Another palette I had purchased but decided to return before using it, which was a huge mistake, is the Dior Garden Palette, all the pretty greens. My favorite eye shades are the greens and purples. I had read so many mixed reviews about that palette and as such, I decided to save my money. When I first saw it, it was love at first sight and I completely understand what you mean by having mixed feelings about using the palette because the designs of the shadows are so gorgeous. After seeing how beautifully you applied it to your eyes, how stunning you looked with those shades, I again regret not keeping it. That’s another item I will be searching for this weekend at sephora. I wish you could do an application lesson for dummies: 101 in creating the most beautiful eye, where you would write down exactly where you applied each color, maybe have an eye pattern sectioned into 4 or 5 divisions, showing where you applied each color, in the order you applied them, what brushes you used, so even a dummy like me could follow your lead. I have to say I am so jealous of your talent. I’m hoping you will consider my suggestion and do it at least once, seeing whether your many other fans would love to see this added to your blog on a regular basis, as much as I do. Thank you for taking the time to show us how to make the most of the palettes and make up we purchase and how we can use make up to enhance our appearance. And by the way, there is nothing wrong with your eyelids. If you feel self conscious about it, I have some frownies I could send you that might correct whatever problem you think you are seeing. I think you look fabulous.
