Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum’Express Mascara in Blackest Black ~ Swatches, Photos, Review

As soon as I saw a picture on twitter from @BelleBelleBeau of this mascara I knew I had to check it out. The beautiful colours on the packaging and the pretty picture of the brush made really grabbed my attention.

What Maybelline has to say:

Now, mega volume goes mega plush.– Our first gel-mousse mascara for massive volume with a supple touch
– Extra-soft, patented Flexor Brush caresses lashes
– Lashes never brittle or flaky
– Available in washable and waterproof formulas

I chose Blackest Black because when it comes to mascara my motto is always go big or go home! I also opted for the washable formula. The Maybelline Volum’Express The Mega Plush mascara does indeed offer a light, non-brittle feel from the gel-mousse formula. I didn’t find it to be mega volumizing but I did find that it offered exceptional definition and separation with a good does of volume and length. There were no issues with clumping and I didn’t need to comb my lashes after application. They do suggest not waiting between coats for the mascara to dry. The Flexor Brush is very comfortable to use. I liked the large brush head and the flexible arm makes for a very comfortable application. I’ve had no issues with flaking or smudging with this mascara. As hard as it is for me to find a drugstore mascara I am happy with I may just have to add this one to the success list!
