Le Metier de Beaute Visage de Soie Setting Powder Shade 2 ~ Swatches, Photos, Review

I had a sample pan of Visage de Soie Finishing Powder from an order I placed with Dustin at Bergforf Goodman ages ago and loved it. I decided it was finally time to buy the full size. I decided to order Shade 2 assuming that like the foundation Shade 2 would be more pink toned while 1 is more yellow. Well it turns out it is opposite for the Visage de Soie which I would have realized if I’d looked at online product swatches from Le Metier de Beaute. Whoops!

This is what Le Metier de Beaute has to say about their finishing powder:

This mattifying powder absorbs oil, delivering a naturalshine-free, radiant finish that lasts all day—providing the final step in creating a beautifullyflawless face. Soft, silk-like powders and radiance spheres help create asoft-focus effect, minimizing flaws, signs of fatigue and transforming even themost uneven, blotchy skin into a smooth, healthy, shine-free complexion.Triple-milled to blend effortlessly without caking or settling into fine lines,it is a silky, comfortable finish that blurs imperfections, leaving behindporeless, even-toned skin.

I haven’t quite figured it out yet but I feel like I liked the formula of my sample pan a little better than the full sized. It’s almost as if it’s pressed too hard in the full sized version so it’s a little easier to pick up product in the sample pan. Regardless though this offers a lovely natural matte finish and an additional touch of coverage. It does indeed work to help blur imperfections and keep your makeup looking fresh throughout the day. I find I have had days where my foundation has migrated a bit but I have a feeling it has more to do with my sunscreen than this powder’s ability to set foundation. It is housed in a mirrored compact with a clear plastic cover that holds the included sponge that flips away to reveal the powder beneath. Personally for full faced application I prefer the look of this applied with a brush. The sponge yields much more coverage. For on the go touchups the sponge is nice to have.
