Dior Smoky Pink 3 Couleurs Trio Palette in Smoky Pink ~ Swatches, Photos, Review

I haven’t had the most success with the Dior Quints. It had me a little nervous to delve more into Dior’s eyeshadow lineup but luckily my best friend was kind enough to give me some of her Dior goodies to play with. (She’s so sweet she even gives me things to try out brand new before she’s even played with them yet sometimes!) So her thoughtfulness is what introduced me to the Dior 3 Couleurs Smoky Palettes.

Dior has reinvented the smoky eye thanks to a new 3-Colours Smoky palette.  A chiaro-scuro variation of effects and textures, this eye shadow trio provides infinite, easy, custom-made smoky eyes.
This original case reveals the secret of smoky “catwalk” eyes.
Its sliding lid is as astonishing as it is intelligent, revealing an innovative, pop-up mirror. Inside, an ultra-smooth base prepares the eyelid. The matte and iridescent shadows of this duo provide made-to measure make-up from the most simple prêt-à-porter, to the most glamorous Couture looks

I’m introducing you first to the Smoky Pink palette. This trio is AMAZING. I mean I am madly in love with it. I didn’t want to give her back these trios after trying them. It is a shame I am constantly distracted by new and limited releases as these palettes need to make their way into my collection. The packaging is unique, beautiful, and so fun to use. If you haven’t played with these yet you must. This is one palette style I would never dream of depotting.

The shades in the Smoky Pink 3 Couleurs palette are a deep matte grey, glittery grey, and a sheer, iridescent pink. The matte shade is an absolute dream. I’m so used to Dior’s sheer, shiny formula from the quints that I was quite taken aback by this shade. Dior really needs to do more mattes! It’s smooth, richly pigmented, and applies beautifully with absolutely no chalkiness. The grey shimmer shade looks quite chunky and scary in the pan but applied it transforms into a lovely, dimensional, shimmering grey. It really surprised me how elegant this shade looked on the skin compared to the bling you see in the pan. Then pink shade is quite sheer as it is designed as a base/highlight shade. I do wish it was a bit more pigmented to get the full effect of the pretty, luminous glow it gives when used in the inner corner but the sheerness makes it perfection for the brow bone. If it was more intense it could end up looking too strong on the brow bone.

Stay tuned for my Face of the Day with this palette to see it in action!

Wow, this color combination is simply divine! I somehow expected that all three colors would be variations on pink, but wow this is the perfect combination. I also have had little luck with Dior’s quints, but this formula is buttery soft and gorgeously pigmented!
