I’ve been intrigued by the new waterproof liquid liners being released by Make Up For Ever and Stila so I thought since I was actually going to be in a Sephora I had better check them out. The Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner colour selection is beautiful. Such eye candy! I was so tempted to go WAY out of my comfort zone by some of the incredible shades. One thing I found odd is there is only one matte brown shade. There are no shimmering browns, bronzes or variations on that theme. I ended up selecting #7 Diamond Black Purple and #11 Diamond Black Burgandy (which I already knew would be coming home with me from Karla Sugar‘s incredible swatches). I will be reviewing #11 first.

High Precision Waterproof Eyeliner
Aqua Liner is a high precision waterproof liquid eyeliner. Rich in pigments and polymers, its formula guarantees intense color and an outstanding waterproof result. Its ergonomic applicator lets you easily apply an ultra precise line to create an eyeliner makeup look. Aqua liner is available in a wide range of vibrant shades with matte, iridescent and diamond finishes. Easily remove with waterproof makeup remover.
These liners really do require you to shake them well before application. There is a ball inside to assist in mixing them well. The tip is quite hard on these. Oddly enough I find the tip on #11 Diamond Burgundy to be stiffer than #7 Diamond Black Purple so there may be some variance between wands. While the wand in the Stila All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner is a flexible felt tip pen style the tips in the Aqua Liners feel more like they are an extension of the plastic wand itself. I highly doubt it is, but to me that is how it felt. I wish the applicator tip was just a bit more giving.
The wear on these really is incredible. It lasted for 12 hours looking as pristine as it did when first applied. It does remove quite easily with a waterproof makeup remover but it does require a bit of rubbing and it comes off in flakes so you will want to ensure you have removed it all so you don’t have some stray bits left on your face at bedtime
#11 Diamond Burgundy is a stunning dark plum toned burgundy shade. I absolutely LOVE it. It is not an in your face colour but instead a lovely departure from typical black and brown eye liner and it makes blue eyes pop. It is exactly the shade I was looking for and the sparkle just makes it even more exceptional. I definitely recommend checking these out.

That is a really pretty shade and the wear time sounds fantastic! It’s a real shame MUFE products aren’t easier to get hold of here in the UK, I’ve heard so many great things about their stuff!

Thanks for brand specifics on the different finishes- i did not catch in any other review that there was matte, diamond , and iridesecent finishes! Do these dry super fast so you have have no time for any smudge-ing?
My urban decay one dries VERY super fast-you kinda have to smudge as you go or else be satisfied with a very precise line.
Serena it does give you a short amount of time before it sets. Not a lot but enough to smudge I would think although I never tried smudging it. The Stila ones take even longer to set.
