Le Metier de Beaute Silk Road Kaleidoscope Eye Kit for Fall/Winter 2011 – Swatches and Review

Much to my husband’s dismay, my eyes went immediately to the cardboard box sitting on our office desk when I arrived home from work! Sorry hubs, sorry kids, sorry dinner! I must rip open this box and explore the beautiful treasure inside!
The Silk Road Kaleidoscope from Le Metier de Beaute’s upcoming Fall/Winter 2011 collection is every bit as breathtaking as I expected! *Sorry this post is heavy on the exclamation points. I’m a little excited.*
Le Metier de Beaute Silk Road Kaleidoscope Eye Kit for Fall/Winter 2011
As described in Le Metier de Beaute’s press release:
Le Métier de Beauté’s new Fall/Winter 2011 Kaleidoscope Eye Kit transfixes with rich and opulent hues reminiscent of the luxe fabrics of an ancient world. A selection of four sumptuous shadows come together (from top to bottom):

  • Tapestry – a shimmering, translucent plum
  • Damask – a polished brass
  • Ikat – a silk-matte pinot noir
  • Brocade – a deep chocolate with sequined copper effervescence
Experience each jewel-toned hue through the previous hue, as all four pigments intertwine to create a prism for the ultimate color contrast with the wearer’s eye shape and color. Using the Le Métier de Beauté signature eye shadow application technique, “Couches de Couleur” (the layering of color), each hue is selected to evoke one element in a sequence of crescendo: 1. Warm 2. Cool 3. Hot 4. Cold.  The combination is famed for increasing the femininity of the eyes, while adding a dash of mystery.
Suggested retail price $95.00

The description of Tapestry as being a shimmery, translucent plum is very accurate. It has a sheer finish but that does not mean it’s lacking in pigmentation.

Damask is a warm gold almost metallic finish shade with insanely rich pigmentation. Stunning.

Ikat is not a flat matte. The silk-matte formula has a beautiful luminous finish.

Brocade is a rich brown matte with copper sparkle.

Valerie you’re in Canada from what I remember right? Neiman Marcus offers free ship codes very regularely and they are valid for Canada!

PD I think they will for sure. Damask would be more subtle but I can’t see it being an issue 😉

I’m in love with this Kaleidoscope. Thus far, I’ve managed to refrain from LMdB, but this entire collection has pushed me completely over the edge. I’m going to have to bite the bullet, brave the traffic, and head into downtown Atlanta to the one mall in town that carries the line.

As I sit in bumper-to-bumper traffic for an hour, I’ll be thinking of you, Christa!

Hopefully you’ll be thinking of me as you happily drive there excited about shopping and not as you curse with road rage at bad drivers! LOL

What perfect Fall colours. I haven’t given into the temptation to get one of their kaleidoscopes yet, but I think this may do me in.
