Laura Mercier Gel Lip Colour in Hibisus Bloom – Swatches and Review

I am so madly in love with this new lipstick formula from Laura Mercier! This is what I dreamed the Chanel Rouge Coco Shines would be. It is sheer and incredibly lightweight. It doesn’t have that really creamy, too much slip feeling I get from the Chanel Rouge Coco Shines (which I’m sure is what some people love about them but I don’t like that feeling myself). It feels so moisturizing and light and packs a whop of a colour punch! It also leaves a really nice even stain behind when it wears off and it lasts pretty well considering it’s sheer formula. I also like the formula of the one Dior Addict Lipstick I tried Fire. I also felt it left a nicer, more even stain than I got from the Rouge Coco Shine Formula. I’m so crazy about this gel formula that I currently have the other 5 colours waiting for me in my online Neiman Marcus shopping cart. These are limited edition and I do not want to miss out on the other saturated and delicious looking shades.

I also wanted to see how this shade compared to Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Romance. I was happy to see in the swatch the shades are very close. Even happier to see that on the lips Hibiscus Bloom is exactly what I was hoping Romance would be for me and wasn’t. Now that I have Hibiscus Bloom I don’t believe I’ll be hanging on to Romance any longer.

I am so glad you swatched this. The colors looked so neon in the tube they scared me away, but what a pretty finish. Didn’t there used to be a Laura Mercier lip stain (potted) called Hibiscus? Anyway, I might need to try the cherry one now.

You should definitely give them a try. The vibrant shades combined with the gel finish give the prettiest glossy pop of colour!
